Spirit Levels were Kim Simpson (guitar, vocals), Doug Wright (bass), and Kendall Simpson (drums). The group played around Salt Lake and Provo in 1991 and 1992. Although the band had an album's worth of original material they only recorded three songs in the studio, with everything else surviving on boom box practice cassettes. The group planned to release this EP, but when it became clear they wouldn't make it past 1992, with Kendall leaving the country, the three songs ended up on Kim's Destination.
